Jamie is a fellow of The Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. Since graduating in 1993, Jamie has advised many small to medium sized organisations in key areas of finance and strategic development as well as audit and taxation planning. Before setting-up his own practice, he was employed for over four years with a Corporate Finance Practice as a Senior Corporate Finance Executive where he provided speciality services, which included Business Planning, Finance Raising, Strategic and Corporate Review and Business Turnaround. While engaged with the practice, Jamie managed the audit and taxation division of the audit and compliance division. Prior to joining the Corporate Finance Practice, Jamie was employed with a medium sized practice, as an Audit Manager and Senior Consultant within the Small Business Unit (SBU).Jamie has gained significant exposure within the financial and managerial function of start-up and developing businesses and is keen to ensure that his professional skills are maintained and employed to the highest standard and benefit of client organisations. In order to expand his professional knowledge and service profile Jamie has undertaken a Diploma in Strategic Business Development with the Institute of Management of Ireland (IMI) in 2008. In 2009 Jamie undertook a Diploma in Forensic Accounting with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Jamie hails from Abbeyleix, Co. Laois and has maintained strong links with the county having established Portlaoise as the head office of the firm. Jamie has many sporting interests which include Rugby, Hurling, Wind-Surfing, Equestrian, Football, Golf and continues to participate in these sports. Jamie is married to Amanda and has two children. Jamie is very keen to give service to the community and has been actively involved with the Laois Chamber of Commerce serving as President in 2011 and an active member of Portlaoise Rotary club having served as club president in 2007/08. “I love working with our clients, helping them to get the very best from their business so that they and their family can adequately provide for the present and plan for the future with comfort. Conal believes in understanding a clients business and their needs. He uses this understanding to deliver a tailored range of accountancy services to help clients meet those needs. He calls on his extensive background in accounting, audit, investigation services, corporate recovery, internal procedures reviews and due diligence to ensure that the client is best advised to succeed in their business. Conal has advised business owners of all sizes and across a wide range of industries. He enjoys helping clients look at their business from different perspectives to ensure they are maximising their business performance whilst effectively managing their taxation position. Clients value his straight talking and can do attitude and they often consider Conal and Avid Partners as an important strategic add on to their business Conal is from Co. Kildare and now lives in Co. Laois with his wife, Pamela and their two children. He is an active member of several business groups throughout Leinster and enjoys golfing and playing guitar. “In today’s business environment clients need their advisers to be proactive and forward thinking. Aisling joined the team at Avid Partners early 2011. Aisling qualified as an Accountant Technician in 2003 and then furthered her studies at Griffith College and qualified as a Certified Accountant in 2007 having trained in a medium size practice in Naas. Aisling has over 9 years experience working in an accountancy practice. Aisling deals with a wide spectrum of clients and has extensive experience in auditing and business advisory services. Aisling appreciates the importance of working closely with her clients and getting to know their business and their business needs. “I look forward to continuing working at Avid Partners and working closely with current and future clients”.
Ciara joined Avid Partners in January 2006. She is a qualified Accountant Technician and a current member of IATI. She is also studying for her ACCA exams at present. Ciara started her accountancy career in 2000 and has over 11 years experience, 4 of which were spent in Tyrone and 2 in Australia. Ciara has gained a lot of experience over the years in many areas of Accountancy with Vat and payroll two of the areas which she specialises in. Some of the other areas she covers are book-keeping, Accounts, Income Tax and Corporation Tax. Ciara has a wide ranging knowledge of current accountancy software and ensures clients have up to date financial data at their fingertips. “One of my top priorities within this business, which I pride myself on, is customer relations and liaising with clients. I try my upmost to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible and that they have a clear understanding of everything. I look forward to continuing working in Avid Partners and working with all our current clients and welcoming all new clients”.
Robert joined Avid Partners in December 2009 and has over 11 years experience in public accounting practices. He qualified as an Accounting Technician and also received a Diploma in Taxation in 2010. Robert specialises in sole traders and small to medium business, with a vast diversity of clients. Robert is also a TAS Certified consultant and has a great deal of experience with accountancy and payroll software. “I firmly believe that the relationship between the client and their accountant is crucial to the ongoing success of a business and I look forward to being your contact as the initial step in developing such a relationship”.
Martina joined Avid Partners in February 2011 and brings with her a wealth of experience in administration and customer service. Originally from Portlaoise, Martina has worked in both the manufacturing and service industries. She believes that it is important to have an understanding of the Client and their industry to help ensure a successful and rewarding relationship. “I look forward to working with new and existing Clients in the future and being the first point of contact at Avid Partners”.
Aoife joined Avid Partners in February 2011. After leaving school she undertook a two year accounting Technician course and then followed on to a degree in accounting which she completed in May 2010 in IT Carlow. Aoife’s current position in the firm is accounts assistant where her main responsibilities are assisting in the preparation of accounts. “I thoroughly enjoy working with the team in Avid Partners and liaising with clients on a daily basis both on the phone and face to face”.
